To start with, here's the just-released report from mine geophysics and hydrology expert Dr. Steven Emerman (Malach Consulting) critiquing SolGold's Cascabel mine, which is touted to potentially be one of the world's biggest copper and gold mines.
The mining project is situated close to the Colombian border, in the mega-biodiverse buffer zone of the Cotacachi-Cayapas National Park, only about 60km north of Los Cedros, and neighbouring a ring of Australian mining concessions which have been plagued for years with violence, conflict and environmental problems. What could possibly go wrong?
